    Let's say your company is 30% tax bracket.
    Available for sale security goes up 100,000 that year.
    Assets increase by 100,000 but on the other side of the equation(A=L+SE) there is only 70,000 put in because of the net of tax treatment.

    Where is the other 30,000 sitting?

    I think now the tax amount is increase and the current rate of tax is 30%.
