    Hello:

I am curious about the different job titles in accounting. For example, what is typically meant by General Ledger Accountant, and what would be the duties? What is the difference between a bookkeeper and a full charge bookkeeper? What is the difference between a Controller and an Accounting Manager? A Controller and CFO? I realize that some of these might vary from organization to organization, but any input would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

controller is the highest position of an accountant in a company. you can call him Chief Accountant. under him are the accounting managers. there are several accounting managers depending on the number of departments the company has, each has its own duty. these accounting managers have their own staff of accountants. im unsure whether the general ledger accountant is a staff accountant or one of the managers.

    hope that help. goodluck :)
