This is my first year in my own practice. I am excited about the upcoming tax season. But, I don’t know how to bring in new clients. I hate the idea of cold calling.
I am part owner in a chain of coffee houses, and we have done quite a bit of "joint" ventures with area businesses. (This is especially good if you have a limited advertising budget!) Example: We have businesses that will buy small trays of muffins or cookies, etc, and will attach a business card to them with a note tying into their pitch like "There's nothing like the sweet taste of success", etc. Another great one to colaborate with is florists!! (Be creative!) Yes, this takes a little more time/effort - but the originality and warmth of this kind of gesture often opens the door to leave a small pile of business cards on display, etc! And of course there is always client referral - provide incentives to existing clients who refer a friend that uses your services! Best of luck!
