I am about to start the next to last semester of my Accounting courses at the local university. I have been made aware by professors, that it would be possible for me to take the CPA exam even though I don't have a bachelor degree. Has anyone here taken the CPA exam with only an Associate degree? And if so, what were your experiences?

It all depends on your state requirements. Since the computer based exam started I know the amount of course credits required has increased. I reside in Illinois and I need 150 credits. I got 132 from my undergraduates degree, so I went to pursue my Masters since I needed those extra credits anyway. I don't think that any state will allow you to sit with only an associate degree. Lock up your state requirements.

Yes, Dawn, u can take the CPA exams w/ ur Associates degree. Delaware is about the only state that allows candidates to take the exams w/an Associates. U don't even have to reside there, and can take the exams anywhere in the States.
