    1. What is the most practical way to show in the balance sheet a fully depreciated fixed assets?
    - The condition of the subject fixed assets, however, are
    (a) a second hand heavy equipment that was acquired 10 years ago but because of periodice maintenance, sometimes extensive and sometimes minor repair, it is still being use as the source of generating major revenue of the business.

    (b) an office furnitures, that are in very good condition.

    (c) old model office equipment such as phones, fax machines, electric calculators and typewriters that are still very useful and in excellent condition.


    2. What is the normal depreciation period for a laptop?

    if the assets are still being used by the company after the estimated economic life has passed then they have value and should be revalued int he balance sheet.

    you just report it at cost even if the resulting carrying value is zero becuase afterall depreciation is a method of allocating expense. its not a process of valuing the assets - that is according to accounting coach.

    or perhaps you can re estimate the life of the fixed assets and then afterwards adjust your accumulated depreciation.
