    I have been trying to figure out how the categories of direct costs and overheads should be applied to a service industry with no physical product, in particular professional services. Is there anything at all corresponding to Cost Of Goods Sold? And if not, what is there in the section of Operating Costs that does not come under the heading of SC&A?

    Sorry if my questions are naive, but I would be grateful for any help.
