I have been wondering how to account for books and other informational resources which are directly used in the provision of services (e.g. training or professional services), without actually being goods sold. The bit about "direct use" seems to distinguish them from R&D (or does it?). Should they be treated as some kind of equipment (i.e. assets)?

    With thanks for any help.
